About
Physical products, thoughtfully developed.
9OneFour is an independent Canadian product-development studio helping small teams take physical products from idea toward production.

How we work
-
Direct communication
You talk to the person doing the design. No account managers, no hand-offs between departments.
-
Practical design
Designs answer the real constraints — what the part must do, where it lives, what it has to fit.
-
Iteration
Physical prototypes settle what CAD can't. We plan iterations, not just one shot at it.
-
Manufacturability
Every design is aimed at something that can be reliably made, from the first sketch.
-
Hands-on development
We scan, model, prototype and test-fit ourselves, so decisions come from real parts.
-
Flexible process selection
We pick the process and supplier that suit the part — never the other way round.
Founder
Amir Mun
9OneFour was founded by Amir Mun around a simple idea: product development should be practical, iterative, and closely connected to how things are actually made.
Amir is a hands-on product developer focused on mechanical design, prototyping and real-world testing — the place where design meets manufacturing. He designs in SolidWorks, Fusion 360 and Inventor, and works with 3D scanning and production 3D printing to get from idea to real part quickly.
That work has run from Porsche motorsport teams and grassroots racing teams to overlanding builds and street cars — and beyond automotive, to projects for artists, makers and medical customers.
Extended capability
Some projects need more than one studio can hold — a specialized process, a production manufacturer, a technical specialist. When they do, we bring in the right partner: machine shops, sheet-metal, laser-cutting and composite vendors, molded-part suppliers and production manufacturers.
9OneFour is part of 9OneFour Labs, alongside Batchform for manufacturing and ScanMyPart for 3D scanning. Each does one thing; 9OneFour designs.
